Biology

Oedema usually appears first on the lower leaf surface as watery blisters. As they age they become brown, yellow, or rust-colored and may resemble disease symptoms. It is very common on geranium but also occurs on many types of plants, particularly those having fleshy leaves. High soil moisture, high humidity, and soil temperature warmer than air temperature favor symptom development.

Management Options

Use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for successful plant problem management.

Non-chemical Management

Select non-chemical management options as your first choice!

  • Do not overwater.
  • Keep greenhouse humidity low, by heating if necessary.
