Biology

Marginal and tip leaf necrosis may result when insufficient moisture is available to broadleaf plants. The terminal growth and sometimes side branches on conifers may die because of excessive water stress. Similar symptoms can occur from winter injury when soil freezes, and water is unavailable.

Management Options

Use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for successful plant problem management.

Non-chemical Management

Select non-chemical management options as your first choice!

  • Properly irrigate plants during dry summer periods. For best results, water deeply and infrequently rather than shallowly and often.

Chemical Management

IMPORTANT: Visit Home and Garden Fact Sheets for more information on using pesticides.

None recommended.
